Prompt: People sometimes feel the need to step away from their normal routines or environments in order to better understand themselves. Describe a time when you needed distance from a situation, place, or group of people in order to think more clearly or gain perspective. What did that experience teach you about yourself?

Prompt Response:  With Adhd I struggle with staying on task and focused. Even though I'm on medication for my Adhd it's still a constant struggle especially in school. There have been many times where I've needed to step outside the class for a breather and take a walk around the school fro a mental break. This helps me to regain focus and clear my mind from any stress and random thoughts that come from chatter distracting me while I work. I do this a lot, especially with my power pass accommodation, it's helped me a lot through high school especially junior year with all the stress its given me.  Summary: In class today we individually read chapters 2-3 and did a work sheet on the themes of the book so far. Reflection:  This helped me grasp a better understanding of the books message, theme and story line.

Prompt: After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

Prompt Response:   Based solely on Chapter 1, McCandless did not understand the risks because he was'nt prepared by how  under-equipped and ignored he was. He lacked basic survival gear, carrying only a small-caliber rifle, no compass, and a simple road map—which Jim Gallien noted was entirely insufficient for the harsh Alaskan bush. His dismissive reaction to Gallien's warnings about the terrain and food scarcity proves he prioritized a romanticized vision over the lethal reality of the wilderness. This makes me think that McCandless is cocky, thinking he can take on anything, naive, and ignorant. Summary: We started reading the book "Into The Wild". Reflection:  We completed the first chapter and it gave me an idea of what the book was maybe going to be about.

Prompt: Today you worked on creating your Vocabulary Digital Cards in Adobe Express. In one well-developed paragraph, reflect on the assignment by explaining which vocabulary word was easiest for you to understand, which word was most challenging, and how creating your own sentence and selecting an image helped strengthen your understanding of the vocabulary. Use specific examples from your work.

Prompt Response: The assignment on Adobe express allowed me to better understand the words and how to use them in a sentence. The word "bumpkin" is a confusing word to remember considering it is an odd word that has an unexpected definition to it. It means an unsophisticated person. An easy word for me is "toady", It is a person who flatters people. I feel like it's easy to remember because I see it as a flashy word which is similar to the definition of the word. Putting all of the vocab definitions into sentences let me gain better understanding of how the words are used and in which context they're used. Summary: In class today we completed our vocab assignment of Adobe. Reflection:  This let me understand the words definitions better.

Prompt: After viewing your classmates’ digital posters and reading the feedback comments left on your work, what new ideas or perspectives did you gain about your poster? Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

Prompt: The comments that were made on my post helped me to realize that pictures and designs bring a poster all together. I had multiple comments about my well designed poster and perfectly picked pictures. I carefully designed my poster in order for it to be well organized and easy to read. this made it where people are focused more on the metaphors and similes rather than if my poster is messy and boring looking. I also spent time choosing specific pictures for each device, to help explain the moral meaning of each metaphor or simile. This makes it where my classmates are able to gain a better understanding on my devices if it confused them at all. Summary: Today in class we commented positive feedback on our classmates posters. Reflection: This made me realize that I relate to more of my classmates than I thought.

Prompt: Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Prompt Response:  the most difficult part on the simile and metaphor work sheet would be creating my metaphors. I always thought metaphors were easy to make but I was wrong. Having to create 6 different ones about myself was a challenge. I had to relate real-world things I have experienced and compare it to something completely random. Next time I'm going to work on making my comparisons more specific. For example I'm going to not just compare myself to a dog but instead I would name a specific type of dog that relates more to the meaning of the metaphor. Summary: In class today we created a poster based on our simile and metaphor worksheet. Reflection:  This helped me strengthen my skills on created metaphors.

Prompt: Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt Response:  Over the break I went to Coco Beach with 3 of my friends. It was so much fun and I miss it so much, the beach is my favorite place. It got me so excited for spring break and summer. When I got back in town I celebrated my birthday with all my friends, shopping and getting dinner with my family. To soak in every moment of the break Sunday night I went with my friends to get Menchies frozen yogurt. This made me excited to see all my friends at school but sad I actually had to go to school. But there's much to look forward to with prom and spring break. Summary: In class today we read a poem and identified it's similes and metaphors. Reflection:  This helped me practice identifying metaphors because sometimes they can be difficult.

Prompt Response:  The way I show love is through debreifs, gifts, and clothes. Debriefing aka deep talks, I open up to people I trust and love and letting them know I trust them. This helps form deeper connections. Gifts, I love gift giving, it lets my loved ones know I'm thinking about them and want to make them happy, which makes me happy. Clothes, I always offer up and share my clothes to anyone who needs it when I know someone doesn't have something to wear. I do this to let my friends know that I care for them and want them to look their best so they feel their best. These are random things but they  Summary: In class completed the rest of my essay and wrote a Valentine's day poem for my mom. Reflection:  I was able to give my mom the poem on Valentine's day.
